Parents also release the school from any claims and liabilities that may arise in connection to the services used below. ![]() During enrollment, parents acknowledge their consent for MIT Academy to provide personal identifying information for their child as required by the website owners and operators listed below, in addition to any programs and services that MIT Academy may add during the academic year. This eliminates the need for parents to provide direct consent to each individual digital service that the school utilizes. COPPA Complianceįederal law permits MIT Academy to provide consent to the collection of personal information to web site operators on behalf of our students. The Student Acceptable Use Policy itself can also be reviewed on our website. For new students, we require a signed agreement form. The Student Acceptable Use Policy can be found in the GTA Student Handbook. The National Student Clearinghouse (via Naviance) is granted access to directory, non-directory, and blocked information to student data for the educational purposes and for the betterment of instruction at MIT Academy.Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) : FERPA protects the privacy of student education records and gives parents the rights to review student records. ![]() The school’s use of student information is solely for education purposes. The “COPPA Compliance form” located in the Student Handbook allows the school to act as an agent for parents in the collection of information within the school context.
